Mable E. Winchester

Mable E. Winchester, 77, of Elkville, passed away at 5:00 P.M., Sunday, October 5, 2003 at her residence.
Mable worked as a cook at Southern Illinois University for fifteen years.  She was a member of Hallidayboro United Methodist Church.
She was born March 18, 1926 at Christopher, IL, the daughter of Marion W. and Mertie A. (Shaw) Carpenter.
She married William Harley Winchester on September 3, 1949 at Du Quoin, IL and he preceded her in death on June 4, 1995.
She is survived by two daughters - Joan Watts and husband Lloyd of Elkville, and Sue Dauksch and husband Danny of Pinckneyville, one son - Paul Winchester and wife Mary of Elkville, one son-in-law - Jim Garavaglia of Elkville, thirteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son - William H. Winchester, two daughters - Debby Garavaglia and Gloria Winchester, five brothers and nine sisters.
Funeral services were at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, October 8, 2003 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Paul Brown and Rev. James Barnett officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 8 P.M., Tuesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Interment was in the Hallidayboro Cemetery at Hallidayboro.
